Special Session on International Cooperation (09:35 - 11:05, June 23)

Panelists are invited to share their experience on international cooperation from academic, industrial, and goverement point of views. Benefits gained, difficulty encountered and solution thereof, and policy supports will be shared and discussed in the panel discussion.

Industrial panelists discuss market trends, supply chains, industrial-academic cooperation, and technology transfer/deployment in semiconductor and MEMS industries.

In-body/Intracellular Cybernetic Avatars ~ (co-)living micro/nano transducers for human science ~

Biological systems rely on continuous signal exchange, not only between cells but across scales of tissues, organs, and molecular networks. By engineering this communication—both through micro/nano-scale devices and through designed cellular systems—we can extend innate functions such as sensing, regulation, and adaptation. This approach opens pathways toward co‑living transducers that cooperate with the body, as well as living transducers that works in designed

cellular communication, together forming the foundation of In-body and Intracellular Cybernetic Avatars in human science. This Organized Session focuses these emerging architectures on advanced

micro/nano devices, and rapidly evolving synthetic and cellular engineering. From signal conversion at the subcellular level to cooperative bio‑device interactions in vivo, the session highlights technologies that enhance or redesign biological function. We aim to chart new frameworks for human‑integrated cybernetic systems and to envision future applications in health, augmentation, and next‑generation biomedical science.

Advanced Micro/Nanodevices: From Single-Cell Analysis to Biomimetic Systems

This session covers the forefront of micro- and nanoscale engineering and the transformative impact on biomedical research, diagnostics, and smart sensing. Specifically, this session will highlight cutting-edge developments across a diverse applications, including single-molecule analysis utilizing pyramidal silicon nanopores, alongside advanced microfluidic platforms that revolutionize multi-parametric droplet sorting for single-cell sequencing and high-throughput noninvasive cell characterization. Expanding the scope from cellular levels to complex physiological modeling, discussions will feature biomimetic microphysiological systems for muscle and retinal disease modeling and therapeutic screening. Furthermore, the integration of advanced energy materials for flexible thermal sensing and heat harvesting will be showcased. Collectively, this session is aim to illustrate how innovative micro/nanodevices are rapidly bridging the gap between fundamental biomolecular analysis and translational applications.
